Statewide Outreach
- New Beginnings Radio Program is heard live every Sunday night at 9:00pm on 94.7 FM KZND “The End” and on 1080 AM KUDO “Progressive Talk Radio”. This innovative program lets our listeners know through personal testimonies, call-ins, and on air discussions that alcoholics/drug addicts can and do get well. The program also educates the community about available programs that offer hope and help to assist in the recovery process. CD’s of the New Beginnings radio program are available and our message is distributed to rural communities through them. For the past 23 years, Intervention Helpline has helped thousands of individuals and family members experience the joy found in living a clean and sober lifestyle.

- Our outreach includes statewide distribution of material that informs the public of the adverse effects of drug and alcohol abuse. Our staff, along with our mascot Freedom Frog, attend Health Fairs across the state. We educate the community that alcoholism and drug use is a disease and users in recovery are sick people trying to get well not bad people trying to be good. We also do interventions throughout the state, in person or offer hope over the phone.
- Freedom Frog is our Mascot and ‘his’ educational thrust is to teach children the cycle of addiction can be broken and there is help and hope from the suffering caused by the disease of alcoholism. Our frog is the Smokey Bear of recovery, carrying the message that only “you can prevent Drug Abuse and Alcoholism”. The ill effects of Alcoholism and Drug Addiction are not just suffered by the individual using, but by the entire family who also need help and support from the problems that alcohol and drugs causes.
- Freedom Frog appears at school based activities like Red Ribbon Day, Just Say No to Drugs Day, and Back to School Safety Day, attends the Mayor’s Picnic, and Boys and Girls Clubs all over the state. The Frog has visited many communities in the state including Barrow, Anatubic Pass, Willow, Wasilla, Juneau, Seward, the Kenai Peninsula and Anchorage (his home). The Frog marched proudly in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, carrying his message of Help and Hope to everyone affected by Drugs and Alcohol.
